Corridor Sixteen recently released their new EP ‘Let’s Rewind’. This EP does just that, combining an alternative, pop punk emo style made up of four unique, admirable tracks.
Beginning with guitar that instantly draws you in, the title track ‘Let’s Rewind’ has an early 2000’s feel. The song builds perfectly to the chorus, perfectly placed instrumental breaks leave you focusing on the lyrics. The bridge allows for a great instrumental highlighting the bands talent. I particularly like the way the song ends, the melancholic tone emphasised as the instrumentals and vocals cut.
Next, we see a similar style of music but presented in a unique way, powerful vocals leading the track. ‘I Hate You’ brings more angst to the EP, another great addition.
‘No Words’ hits next with an interesting combination of instruments at the start which continue throughout. The calmer verses lead perfectly to the chorus, seeing more impressive vocals.
Concluding the EP is ‘Pretty Demons’. A song with darker lyrics all elements combined to create a consistent song, to leave a lasting impression as the EP ends.
‘Let’s Rewind’ is a cohesive, interesting, well put together EP, showcasing a range of instrumental talents and dynamic vocals. All the while maintaining an angsty, darker tone fitting perfectly with the style and genre of the songs.
Despite hearing influences from bands such as My Chemical Romance and Green Day it is clear Corridor Sixteen still maintain their own unique sound.
Make sure to give this amazing EP a listen now!
