A New Era and a New Single from Grace Calver

morethanjustmusicb

Grace Calver is back already, starting a new era with ‘Bad Influence’ a fiery, vibrant single following the release of her debut EP ‘My life and its Disasters’. You can look forward to hearing this new one on 16th June.

At just 19, Calver has already accomplished so much and its clear she has incredible talent for song writing, ‘Bad Influence’ only adds to the point.

The song discusses Calvers type of guy when dating the conversational, disapproving start sets up the narrative of the song before pop punk instrumentals hit. Shortly after Calvers stunning vocals come in and we hear about finding the person with all the red flags.

The instrumentals and vocals are combined perfectly, timing clearly considered for instrumental breaks and even cutting out completely at one point, emphasising the lyrics and adding to the humorous tone of the track, a great balance.

The bridge is a particularly notable part, Jake Day performing an incredible flashy guitar solo adding to the feel of the song. Incorporated are Calvers friends as they chip in with their thoughts about this guy, another comical addition.

As soon as you’ve finished listening to the track, you find yourself wanting to replay it. All the elements of it have created a fun, enjoyable and bold song, my personal favourite from Calver so far.

I’m excited to see where this new era leads. If you haven’t already, make sure to listen to ‘My Life and its Disasters’ and pre-save ‘Bad Influence’ now, to listen to the incredible new track next week!
