ree

Singer, songwriter Grace Calver is back with new single ‘Social Media Generation’, a snappy pop song with elements of pop punk. Her influences of Weezer and Baby Queen really shine through in this one. It’s fun, overdramatic in the best possible way and is sure to get you singing a long by the end.

Kicking off right away with a strong guitar riff and snappy lyric of ‘I see you scrolling, and yeah I’m hating’ sets the tone for the track. This riff is seamlessly joined by a steady beat that further plays into the pop punk nature.

The track discusses the disappointment of that person that’s always on their phone, but never manages to post anything about you. Grace Calver comes at you with charisma and sass before the second verse explores that of course social media isn’t the be all and end all but if ‘Everyone else does, why can’t you?’.

The chorus draws you in further with smooth vocals and a groovier riff before the entertaining bridge hits. Clearly a standout addition taking the track to the next level, is a spoken word section that plays into the sassy theme and makes ‘Social Media Generation’ even more dynamic.

Before the single comes to an end, a collection of layered vocals with the tracks title and chorus gives us the final bit of enjoyment. The stop-start beat closes the track impressively, before you find yourself wanting to start it over again.

‘Social Media Generation’ is easily relatable and highlights Grace Calvers impressive storytelling in her lyricism. This track is carefully thought out right through to the end, its full of personality and unique in its style. You can easily see the progression in her work, and this goes even further highlighting her talent in producing.

‘Social Media Generation’ is bold, fun and relatable, make sure to listen to it, out now!
