After finishing a run supporting Crawlers, Daisy Brain stopped off at the intimate venue The Hare and Hounds for their headline tour in Birmingham on 17th November 2022. They started off with ‘Small Matters’, the instrumentals kicking in, the guitar-led song making a great first impression on the bustling crowd.

‘Lost for words’ followed, a sense of 90’s nostalgia filling the room, Jess on guitar and Dan on bass added harmonious instrumentals with powerful drums from Gavin. The atmosphere was energised, exciting but still had the feeling of laid-back hanging out making the gig slightly more special.

They went on to play an unreleased song ‘Dick of the year' which is certainly a release to look forward to. Despite not knowing the lyrics, the crowd remained eager.

‘Down’ seemed to be a fan favourite, Will’s strong vocals encouraged a loud response bringing elements of indie rock to the show. He made sure to stop at the end of the song to thank everyone for coming out, a nice personal touch.

The energy just kept increasing, a mosh pit opened and ‘Boring’ begun. The band showed just as much energy, jumping around the stage.

‘Something punk, something poetic' took every last bit of energy. A slow build up had the crowd on edge before the vocals, guitar and drums all increased and the room became a messy collection of people jumping, dancing and just having fun.

Since their last show in Birmingham in February, you can see their evolution as a band, becoming more interactive and energised.

Through the atmosphere, the stage presence, and beautifully crafted songs, it’s easy to understand why Daisy Brain are on the rise and I can’t wait for their journey to continue.
