Grace Calver - ‘My life and its disasters’ EP Review

Grace Calver has her electrifying EP ‘My life and its disasters’ coming out on 14h April. She is an extremely talented 19-year-old singer songwriter, this EP features 5 punchy tracks with an indie pop feel to it. Topics ranging from dead conversations, mixed signals and missed opportunities.

It begins with ‘Zombie conversations’; this track was released just over a year ago and is a perfect example of Calvers stunning vocals. It has a catchy chorus with relatable lyrics and its easy to understand why its already reached 27k streams. (Although it certainly deserves more).

Next up is ‘Bored of U’ with calming vocals, perfectly balanced instrumentals and direct lyrics making up the amazing song.

After is ‘Read Your Mind’ which is yet to be released. Its steady and stylised with hints of influence from Beabadoobee and Mitski, a release to look forward to.

‘Addicted’ is her most recent single discussing a slightly obsessive crush, starting with soothing guitar before moving into the chorus.

The final track, another currently unreleased song, ‘For Dead’ takes on a more indie rock style. Its dynamic and rhythmic. I particularly enjoy the end of this one.

Through the instrumentals, vocals and entertaining lyrics, this EP has been beautifully crafted with a range of songs. Before April 14th, go and check out ‘Zombie Conversations’, ‘Bored of U’ and ‘Addicted’, you won’t be disappointed.
