Grace Calver has an exciting new single out now in collaboration with Jos Shepherd. After supporting Alfie Templeman in October 2022, Shepherd (Alfie Templeman’s guitarist) and Calver met creating this incredible new single, ‘Love Me Not’.
This track is indie-pop, beautifully mellow starting with uniquely crafted guitar and instrumentals leading to the first verse setting up the bitter romantic tone. Gradual harmonies are a perfect addition.
A funky bassline runs throughout adding more depth as we hear the layered chorus, vocals add themes of making bad decisions when it comes to relationships a theme often present in Calver’s music.
As you listen you catch influence of Shepherd’s sound and Calver’s lyrics a complimenting blend. I anticipated the groovy chorus for a second time before more impressive guitar led to the bridge, the vocal range really shining through.
A bold song addressing all the partners that keep you guessing and a perfect collaboration, highlighting the artists’ talent. Despite the lyrics the sound is upbeat and a delight to listen to.
Although Grace Calver keeps ending up in the wrong relationships, we keep getting fresh, impressive singles.
As always make sure to save the brilliant ‘Love Me Not’ out now and if you can catch her performing love, supporting Leah Weller in September and Low girl and Someone In October!
