Chris Beswick is a multi-talented creative, working across the music industry. Focusing on music technology, production and business. He has created an impressive electronic album made up of four unique tracks.
First up is ‘Ode to RTC’ a catchy riff starting it off, which continues to develop. There is a short break where more experimental electronic sounds come in, making for a unique and dynamic song. I enjoy how this track goes a step further and incorporates keys similar to the riff.
‘The Ghost of Studio 3’ comes second, a well named track relating perfectly to the ominous sounding guitar that begins. This cleverly switches up around a minute in, grabbing your attention. More instrumentals add depth before it returns to the guitar from the beginning tying it all together.
More synth is used in ‘Uncanny Valley’, an interesting beat changing in tempo throughout. This one is a little more consistent with the beat, repeating throughout. This is the main element and drives the track.
Finally, is ‘Sheaf Island’ with a complex drum beat including a fill which starts it off - the genre slightly differing from others on the album taking on more of a rock format. The bass and distortion enhance this track. The pitch differences making this even more creative.
There’s even a snappy bonus track in collaboration with Brad Widdowson, coming in at just over one minute, this one includes vibey guitar just as the title ‘Nothin’ but vibez’ suggests.
This album is complex, using a range of instrumentals including guitar, drums, synth bass, keys and more. It’s clear that all elements have been carefully considered working well alongside each other creating an innovative piece.
